Kings - the persecution

In "Kings, The Persecution," we delve into the captivating tale of David, the courageous yet fearful figure known as "the man after God's own heart." David has transformed from an unknown youth in Israel to a respected leader, earning admiration through his integrity and the many victories granted by the Lord. This newfound respect has, however, ignited a fierce jealousy in Saul, the reigning king. This fifth season of Kings will unravel the intricate dynamics of their relationship, illustrating how Saul's escalating persecution, leading to his moral decline, ultimately drew David closer to God. It will become clear that it was not David's own strength or prowess that shielded him from his enemies, but rather the unwavering presence of the One he revered and sought, both in peaceful times and during profound trials. The compelling narrative will guide us through the texts of I Samuel, sections of II Samuel, and the cherished book of Psalms. We will witness the joys, struggles, and adversities faced by David and his followers as they recognize the divine authority he embodies. We will come to know David as a son, brother, friend, lover, warrior, and devoted servant, not only to Saul but, more importantly, to the Lord of hosts and the nation entrusted to him. Yet, we will also bear witness to the conflicts and vulnerabilities that David, like any human, had to confront. "Kings - The Persecution" illustrates how pride can lead to a person's downfall, reducing them to a mere shadow of their former selves by yielding to God. Conversely, the Lord's hand remains steadfast for those who obey, trust, and revere Him, even amid fierce battles and severe trials.
